Import and organize
Sync a Discogs collection, browse releases and tracks, edit in bulk, and keep the information around a physical library available when you need it.
PUBLIC VINYL RADIO / OPEN SYSTEM 001
GrooveNet is a self-hosted system for DJs and collectors: import your Discogs collection, enrich it, analyze the audio, and use what you learn to search, discover, and sequence music.
NOT A STREAMING SERVICE
GrooveNet starts with the collection you’ve built in the real world. It gives that collection a useful technical memory—release data, listening metadata, audio characteristics, and links between tracks—while the records remain the point.
CAPABILITIES / 02
Sync a Discogs collection, browse releases and tracks, edit in bulk, and keep the information around a physical library available when you need it.
Essentia-powered audio analysis brings BPM, key, and mood into the catalog. Optional embeddings support vector similarity search.
Search with full-text, fuzzy, and advanced filters; enrich tracks from Apple Music, YouTube, and SoundCloud; discover relationships across the collection.
Generate optimized playlists with a genetic algorithm using BPM, key, mood, and genre—then take your own judgment back to the decks.
Manage the library through the web app, a scriptable terminal client, or an MCP server that lets Claude work with your collection in natural language.
Browse and share collections with friends, so the system can reflect the social routes through which records move and music gets passed along.
IN USE / 03
The existing GrooveNet web interface is the operational view: catalog, track details, playlists, audio metadata, and the work of keeping a library useful.
Actual GrooveNet interface recording from the project repository.

SYSTEM MAP / 01
GrooveNet connects the information around the records you own without making the records secondary.
OPEN SOURCE / 04
GrooveNet is MIT-licensed and self-hosted. Its stack brings together a Next.js application, PostgreSQL with pgvector, Redis, Python services for audio analysis and playlist generation, and a download worker.
It is maintained by Public Vinyl Radio ↗—an ecosystem rooted in the practice of collecting, listening, and DJing.
